This District Network Office has been in existence since 1973 and is proud to serve the southeastern Wisconsin market. The Schwertfeger Group is located at the Bayshore Towne Center in Glendale, Wisconsin.
The Schwertfeger Group is an association of Financial Representatives who are united in their desire to offer an array of quality insurance and investment products to meet the unique needs of their individual clients. They are independent contractors, under the direction of Scott Schwertfeger, who build their businesses on the philosophy of needs-based selling as the strongest form of client building.
Northwestern Mutual has consistently received the best possible insurance financial strength ratings from the four major rating agencies: Standard & Poor's, Moody's Investors Service, Fitch Ratings and A.M. Best. Northwestern Mutual was named "America's Most Admired" life/health insurer in FORTUNE's annual survey (March, 2008), and Northwestern Mutual was named one of "The 50 Best Companies to Sell For" in the November/December issue of Selling Power magazine.
Scott Schwertfeger, Financial Advisor, became Managing Director of the Schwertfeger Group in January of 2000. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1993 as a College Intern and was recognized as one of the top 3 interns. He was also a College Unit Director, where he worked to recruit and develop interns like himself. Scott thought the College Internship Program was extremely beneficial to getting a fast start to becoming a Financial Representative. Scott graduated from UW-Madison in 1996 and became a full-time Financial Representative. Scott was fully licensed and ready to go as a result of the Internship Program.
Scott Schwertfeger possesses a strong commitment to upholding the values of Northwestern Mutual, and he is proud to bring the benefits of the Network to his clients. As a Managing Director, Scott Schwertfeger's main objective is to continue to recruit and develop quality Financial Representatives and College Interns for the Schwertfeger Group. He maintains this role while providing exceptional service to his clients.
In recognition of Scott’s commitment, Northwestern Mutual has awarded Scott with The Outstanding Achievement in Recruiting and Sales Award (OARS) award five times. This award is given to Managing Directors who excel at developing their District Network office and managing their own practice.
He was also recognized by the industry as a stand out manager. In 2009, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisor (NAIFA) presented Scott with the Manager's Membership Award.
